I have spilled hair gel in my car and it has also attacked my carpet, any idea how can i remove it? its one of those water resistant gels and has also been stuck on my cup holder and some other places as well. I tried scrapping it off but no hopes and i fear the paint will come off. I drive a 6 series and if anyone who does would understand what do i mean by saying the "paint" coming off. plzzz lemme know
thank u;)
Ahhh help! i've spilled hair gel in my car!?
just give your car in for overall servicing.....they will probably take care of your car using proper techniques like shampooing or whatever...don't try messing it up coz i dont think everyone gets to drive a 6 series all the time....if u try scraping it off u might have to end up changing the upholestry altogether...so i advise u to get it removed professionally....in the meantime just enjoy the smell of hair gel in you car ;-)

Usually hard to spill hair gel in a car, What were you doing when it happened? you must not have been concentrating on your hair and done something silly, like reaching for your Latte` or talking on the phone. no reason to possibly have one if not both hands on the steering wheel. If designers took all the mirrors out of the inside of cars, Would women still buy them? or would you see a lot of women driving down the road with their head stuck out the window doing their makeup?

Try mineral spirits, contractors solvent(goo gone) or rubbing alcohol on a clean lint free rag. May take some scrubbing but it will come off.

First, for non-carpeted surfaces... I would recommend getting a bottle of rubbing alcohol and a box of Q-tips. It will take some work but the rubbing alcohol shouldn't take off any paint - however, you can test it in a conspicuous location before going to town.
Second, for carpeted surfaces... They sell carpet cleaner that comes in a can with a scrub brush. That works extremely well for getting out most anything. I've managed to get all sorts of stains (from soda to grape juice) out of carpet with that.
*Edit: And I was given a thumbs down for perfectly acceptable, reasonable advice? Neat!
