I was wondering can Hair gel make you get Acne? Also does Hair gel cause your hair to fall off. Im afraid that my hair is gonna fall of in the future because i use gel every day in the morning except on weekends. I use Got2B Glued Gel and when i get home i wash my hair with Head %26amp; Shoulder Shampoo. When i put on Gel it looks as if my scalp is easily visable. Is it because the Gel is reacting to my hair? I have been putting Gel on since 3-4 years. Please anyone...

I really don't think that hair gel causes acne... but who knows?

and no, the normal hair gels that you would buy from a pharmacy do not cause baldness... actually some essential oils in them are supposed to encourage hair growth in patchy baldness.

But, some chemicals can damage hair, so the hairs become fragile and break... and this would make the area look bald... also, a strong chemical could burn the scalp, which would damage the hair follicles and cause baldness... however I just think you can be confident that hair gels from a well-known manufacturer will not contain any damaging chemicals.

or if you are allergic to one of the ingredients in hair gel your scalp might become inflamed and there might be some temporary hair loss, but this usually doesn't happen.

Try not using the gel for awhile to find out if thats the cause..

well there's one thing i know about this question

be careful when using gel or hair product

do NOT pull very hard when doing spikes

be gentle when using any hair product

it could pull out ur hair easily

especially when it's hard from gel or glue

but i don't think it will make your hair fall out

the oils in the gel may give you acne

just try to keep it away from your face

and wash any left over gel off your face

I've never heard of hair gel causing acne or hair loss. I do know that if you have bangs for example, the grease and dirt from your hair might kind of "rub off" (I guess you could use that to describe it!), and the oils from your hair can irritate your skin, and cause acne. That might have answered your question...?

As for having future hair loss it depends on if currently your scalp has stinging or you overork your hair with additional chemicals. I suggest you ask your stylist to give you an evaluation of your hair and scalp!

I believe so....me personally, when i use gel, too close to my face, it breaks my face out REAL bad...and its soo difficult to get out my hair, it breaks my hair off!
