Does hair gel or glue affect brain cells?

I have been wondering, do you lose brain cells if you use hair gel or hair glue (same as hair gel accept stronger hold)?

I was wondering this because I have heard rumours and as well I figured since hair dye affects brain cells, why wouldn't hair gel or glue?

Hee hee! No, gel does not effect brain cells. Hair dye is applied right to the roots, and usually soaks its chemical self into the scalp for hours at a time. Even still, dye does not penetrate through your skull and dye your brain cells, or effect them in any other DIRECT way... What actually has an effect on your brain cells is the odor and fumes of the ammonia, urea, and other dangerous chemicals that you breathe in when dying your hair. That said, I do believe that some glues may be dangerous for the same reason of fumes (I mean, people huff the stuff). A glue that I used to use to put my friends' hair in mohawks was wood glue. It bonds well to the natural hair shaft, dries to a perfectly awesome spike, and has almost no odor. Don't worry about gel though- it is formulated to be mild enough to sit on your head all day. (Unlike hair dye, which you must wash out, right?)

No, that's not true at all. Sure, things like breathing in chemicals and whatnot can affect brain cells; but if the product doesn't touch your brain, then nothing will happen. Plus, I'm sure hair gel/glue wouldn't be on the shelves if that were the case :] Ha, hope this helped! :]

Go ahead and use all the products that are over the counter

directly on your head without feeling that you will lose your

brain cells. Your friends, however don't have any cells to

lose. And you can tell them I said so.
