My little sister put hair gel on my cat's head (she was trying to make a fauxhawk) and now I'm afraid that when he licks it off it will harm him. Of course when I told her this she just got pissed at me and didn't actually clean it off like I asked her to. I tried washing it off with a wet towel and it didn't seem to do much, so what kind of soap should I use? I don't know where my mom keeps the "cat soap," but is regular dove bar soap or castile soap okay?

Do not put any soap on the cat. Get a bowl of water and a wash cloth, and keep wetting him and wiping it off until it comes clean. Using soap is only putting one more thing on his fur that will make him sick.

If he is not too afraid of water, wrap him up in a towel and run warm water from the kitchen sink on the area, while rubbing it out.

lol don't use human soap! and if you do make sure to get ALL of it off. Baby soap wouldn't be the best, but it's better than dove. I would just use water and tell on your sis haha

Ask your mom where the cat shampoo is and ask her to supervise while you and/or your little sister give the cat a bath. Don't use other soaps because they could cause irritation to his or her skin. Cats are really tough to bathe; however, it can and should (in this case) be done. I have given my cat a bath and she hates it, but it's for her own good...I just give her lots of extra attention when she's dry and brushed.

WELL, if you use our type of soap, im not sure it would be the best, unless you get every bit off, you should try going out to buy cat shampoo.

But, for now, you need to use a warm [NOT HOT] wash cloth, gentely rub it going on direction, and it should come off, just like if we were to do it to us.

do you still have the bottle of hair gel? please read the label and search for the word "WARNING:" read it and see if there's any warning about ingestion of the gel. if there is, call poison control/the vet IMMEDIATELY. if there isnt, give the cat a bath. (warm water, cat shampoo[if you can find it] or dove soap) and then call the vet just incase.

If the cat is white I would just use bleach...If not then maybe some Dawn dish soap, thats stuff works wonders...
