My son has recently grown his hair and likes the "spikey" effect. I can't seem to find anything to put in it to get the desired effect without leaving the hair rock hard when the gel dries. We wash the hair first and then blow dry it. I need something to put in his hair which will spike it up but not leave it sticky or like it has dried hard glue on it. Any ideas?
UK QUESTION - Can you recommend a hair gel?
Have a look in Boots for one of the liquid spritz styling hair sprays. They just brush out at the end of the day.
Kids and fashion, ;-) I feel for you. Daughter went through that phase last year.
UK QUESTION - Can you recommend a hair gel?
Hello theres lots of products you could try.
if you go to a department store or somewhere like Boots and have a good luck--you might be able to find the same stuff cheaper esle where but dont worry about that just yet. Look at the stuff then ask a rep if they could give you a free sample so your son can try it coz your sick of buying full bottles and him wasting it. If they wont do it then try at hair stylists and barbers who might be able to give you a sample. Also take note of the people who make the products and email them and ask them for samples they usually give them out.
Loreal, Garnier, Elvive, and Shockwaves are usually quite helpul and will send you a free sample if you ask nicely.
Meanwhile Shockwaves are at the minute one of the best. http://www.shockwaves.com/
My brother used to use a gel from Avon which my mum used to buy him so you could order form them or look online. That was really good coz it was nt sticky and brushed out easily.

The trick is to dampen your hand with water apply gel to the palm of your hand about the size of a five pence swirl round with your finger so it warms it then spread your fingers at fornt of his face and run your fingers (very wide apart at this stage)through half way and then suddenly clamp your fingers together (should be at the top of his head at this stage) and hold the hair tight and pull firmly and quickly upwards, he will get spikes but it wont cause the hair to over load with products. Also if you do this with setting wax or sculpting wax (comes in round flat pots and looks like soft wax when you open the tub) you can get an even better effect and usually the hair is soft after using wax.
Please email me if you need anymore help babes. Happy to help :P
