I tried both and Got 2b never worked in my hair while L.A. looks works for me but i think it depends on your hair.

my son uses crew and it works great it keeps the hold but doesnt make your hair really sticky you can buy it at salons and sometimes at drug stores or grocery stores (albertsons)

La looks will usually make your hair nice and stiff if that's what you want, but create damaging build up after extended use, not to mention ugly white flakes by the end of the day. American crew products are made specifically for men, and they work great. There are tons of other great gels and sprays that will spike hair great and not break the bank. Go to a supercuts or haircuttery and ask for help from one of the stylists- usually the products are garaunteed and you can bring it back if you don't like it. Also, most of the time they have it there and they could try it out on your hair for you before you purchase it.

Also, do not buy crew or any other professional products anywhere but a professional hair salon. Those products at drugstores are sold ilegally, and are usually very old or damaged...some have even been found to have traces of rat feces in them. These products are ONLY garaunteed when bought in a professional salon. Plus, the prices at the drugstore wont be cheaper than the salon anyway.
