Which is a better hair product, gel or hair spray ... ?

... for your hair. By damage, my younger brother says hair spray i say gel. I want to prove him wrong, can you post a article or anything that talks about hair damage, etc. Thanks.

*By the way I mean general gel and hair spray, not just 1 brand or so.

Gel is by far worse on a persons head then hair spray, although neither are nessesarily "good" for you hair.

Gel has a lot of chemicals that contain drying agents. It sucks the moisture out of your hair and plugs the pores on your scalp making dandruff more apparent in gel users.

Hairspray (obviously depending on how you use it) is suppoused to be used at a misting product which doesn't cake your hair the way gel does. It's not technically good for you because is has a lot of the same chemicals but it's to be used in moderation beside gel which leaves gel as the fore runner.

hi well i used to use hair spray alot and it just ended up ruining my hair, i ended up with dry hair it was always knotted and i would get really bad split ends i went to my hairdresser and she suggested i start using styling gel as its more easy to use and you can style your hair easier.

i like hairspray cuz a lot of times the gel will flake %26amp; it will look like u have dandruff
