I'm a male, I use Dep gel - the orange one. I need something to hold my hair, I have very fine hair but it's thick and if I don't use any type of hold my hair would be flat and staticy and I'd have bangs. I have a hairstyle similar to my avatar.

I don't like the way gel makes my hair look darker, and it's too stiff.

Use wax, or use a gel/wax mix. Or moose, or hairspray. Don't apply the gel when you're hair is super wet either.

try mousse intsead of gel it helps keep your hair in the style you want without it looking wet or feeling stiff

Use Suave, its in a purple gel, its not sticky, but if u use a ton of it it does make ur hair stiff, but u dont need a lot, cuz i dont use a lot and it holds my hair, and my hair is thick and kinda long, so you should try it...

I don't use gel; I use mousse. I found that gel can actually dry out your hair more and damage it. I use Tresemme Mousse Extra Hold. It works really well, and your hair doesn't have the wet look. It will if you put too much in though, but the nice thing about this is that you can just run your hands through your hair, break up some of the stiffness, and your hair looks dry, isn't stiff, and stays in the style you want.

hi! my hair kinda tends to frizz after i wash it so i haveee* to u somehting before i go to school and all. i would recommend wax. go to a salon and buy wax around $20. the cheap $5 ones dont hold ur hair as well and as long. wax is great because it makes ur hair look soft like natural hair w/o any stuff in it, and it gives hair great control as gel does but with out the flaking and stiffness, and that hard plasticy look.

p.s- moose doesnt give as much control as wax does, moose also tends to die out on you fast. and got 2 be is a great gel, however i dont think this is what your looking for b.c it makes ur hair REAL hard and its meant for spiking. also palmade is not good because its meant for making your hair look shiny and silky. WAX IS THE BEST!
